This sounds like a smart approach. There’s even prizes for participating: Expensive audio software plug-ins. Let’s hope that the trade group is sincere, and that nobody wins the “Auto-Tune EFX” plug-in…
Incidentally, their slogan is “Buy The Software You Use”. That’s kind of loaded, right? What if I only use it once, but am too lazy or busy to really dig-in? Here’s a slogan for the easily-distracted (me): “Use The Software You Buy”.
